By Appointment to His Majesty the King, but which King? We assume King George VI, which would likely place this bottle in the 1940s – we believe in the early years of that decade or could even be the 1930s. It has a good fill to the bottom of the neck and for its age is in remarkably good condition, except for some slight wrinkling to the back label. The white horse figure is boldly embossed on the back of the bottle.
This is a US import by Browne Vintners of New York. The size is given as 4/5 quart and the strength shown is 86.8 proof.
There is also a neat tax label over the spring cap, which is expertly covered by heavy foil with a neck label in four languages telling you how to open the cap!
