This exceptional amaro is made by 3rd generation orange growerEdoardo Strano. His groves are over 100 years old and grow on the flanks of Mt. Etna, in mineral-rich volcanic soils. It incorporates three different varieties of oranges;Tarocco Nocellara, Tarocco Gallo, and Tarocco Melis, all of which are peeled by hand prior to infusion in pure alcohol. Each batch of alcohol has 7 rounds peels infused into it toconcentrate the flavor and color. A separate infusion ofChinese rhubarb root, gentian, and cinchona barkoffers the bitter component to this beverage. The final product is assembled, sweetened and cut with spring water from the volcano.
