  • Located just a mile from our home, Pearlstad Vineyard, owned by Ken Pearlman and Dana Baker, is a site we deeply believe in. Nestled on the windward side of the Eola-Amity Hills, Pearlstad benefits from the daily cooling influence of marine air from the Pacific Ocean, funneled through the Van Duzer Corridor. This natural cooling effect, combined with the vineyards unique topography and ancient oceanic soils, creates an ideal environment for growing Chardonnay with exceptional acidity and tension.
  • The vineyard blocks we lease are situated mid-slope, where the vines must struggle to break through the white sandstone shoal, resulting in grapes with concentrated flavors and remarkable structure. This unique terroir, along with careful vineyard management, ensures that our Chardonnay truly reflects the character of Pearlstad Vineyard.
• Harvest Method: Handpicked at 3 am in October 2022, to avoid the impending rains
• Vinification:
  • Whole cluster pressed with light sulfuring in the press pan
  • Juice settled overnight and racked directly to French oak barrels (15% new)
  • Minimal batonnage (stirring) during primary fermentation
• Aging:
  • Aged on the lees in a mix of French oak barrels of various sizes
